Our History

HeritageDigits was founded in 2018 by a team of archaeologists, digital preservation specialists, and technologists who recognized an urgent need to protect our world's archaeological heritage. The initiative began as a response to the destruction of cultural sites in conflict zones and the increasing threats posed by climate change.

What started as a small project documenting endangered sites has grown into a global network of researchers, institutions, and volunteers working together to preserve humanity's collective memory. Our comprehensive approach combines multiple technologies for complete documentation

Photogrammetry

We use advanced photogrammetric techniques to create precise 3D models from photographs. By capturing hundreds or thousands of overlapping images from multiple angles, we can reconstruct sites and artifacts with millimeter-level accuracy.

LiDAR Technology
